IoT & Smart City Lead

Overview

We seek a seasoned professional to lead Smart City projects as the key consultant driving digital transformation with IoT technologies. This role involves customer interaction with government bodies, city administrators, utility providers, and transportation agencies along with enterprise clients to implement innovative Smart City initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the main liaison for Smart City projects and client communications.
• Facilitate workshops and gather detailed customer requirements; deliver solution demonstrations.
• Translate urban modernization goals into tailored technology solutions aligning with business needs.
• Forge and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders across governments and enterprises.
• Architect comprehensive Smart City and IoT systems incorporating sensors, gateways, connectivity, cloud, analytics, and visualization tools.
• Create and evaluate use cases and business justifications for Smart City programs ensuring scalability, security, and integration.
• Lead initiatives in domains including smart governance, mobility, parking, utilities, energy management, lighting, waste, public safety, buildings, environment monitoring, and campus digitalization.
• Support business growth through assistance with RFPs, proposals, proofs of concept, and technology showcases in collaboration with sales teams.
• Guide technical delivery efforts liaising with engineering and implementation teams to align deployments with client expectations and outcomes.
• Keep abreast of Smart City trends and represent the organization at relevant conferences and forums, while contributing thought leadership content.

Required Expertise

• Deep knowledge of IoT platforms, device management, sensor networks, edge computing, industrial IoT solutions, real-time monitoring, and telemetry data systems.
• Proficiency with connectivity methods such as LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, LTE/5G, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA.
• Experience with major cloud IoT platforms including Microsoft Azure IoT, AWS IoT, Google Cloud IoT, IBM Watson IoT.
• Understanding of data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, predictive maintenance, digital twins, GIS integration, and reporting dashboards.
• Working knowledge of smart city technologies like Integrated Command and Control Centers, City Operations Centers, Urban Data Platforms, smart infrastructure monitoring, and GIS tools.

Educational & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or related fields required; master's degree preferred.
• Certifications in IoT, cloud platforms, smart cities, or enterprise architectures are beneficial.
