Role Overview
As an Internal Communications Manager, you will partner closely with various business units and their leaders to communicate effectively through compelling storytelling that reflects Kiwibank’s strategy and purpose. This role is especially critical during a significant bank-wide transformation, collaborating closely with the transformation team to ensure communications are aligned and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer strategic advice and guidance to leaders and stakeholders regarding internal communication strategies and practices.
- Develop and implement communication plans that build Kiwibank’s reputation and engage employees.
- Create meaningful content that highlights how different business units contribute to the bank’s strategy and purpose, motivating and involving staff.
- Support the transformation programme by crafting strategic stories that facilitate change.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure messages are clear, aligned with Kiwibank’s values (Ngā Kauwaka), and consistent with overall strategy.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Recognized for delivering insightful, strategic advice and being a trusted communications partner to senior leaders.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities that enable influence across teams and departments.
- A collaborative mindset, with excellent listening skills to understand diverse viewpoints and unite people around shared goals.
- Proven track record of designing and executing strategic communications plans over sustained periods.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities with a talent to spot compelling stories and a creative approach to content delivery.
- Experience confidently using various communication channels including email, intranet, video, social media, virtual environments, and face-to-face interactions.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, effectively prioritizing tasks to focus on key outcomes.
- An openness to learning and curiosity about emerging tools, such as AI, to boost productivity and enhance communication quality and impact.
