Senior Manager, Technology & Digital Risk

About the Role

Join Kiwibank as a Senior Manager leading the Technology and Digital Risk function to develop a forward-thinking and integrated risk management approach. This key leadership role involves shaping governance and resilience policies to foster safe innovation in technology, cyber security, data, AI, and digital transformation.

Our Risk team ensures consistent risk frameworks, advises on sound business decisions, monitors risk levels, and provides lucid reporting to senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of Kiwibank's independent and connected second line of defense perspective on Technology and Digital Risk.
• Drive oversight and provide constructive challenge over technology, cyber, data, AI, operational resilience, third-party tech risk, and emerging digital risks.
• Collaborate across multiple functions including Technology, Cyber, Data, Privacy, Operational Risk, Compliance, and Enterprise Risk to ensure coherent risk management.
• Translate complex risk information into clear forward-looking insights supporting management, executive, and Board decisions.

Required Experience and Skills

• Proven experience in technology risk, cyber risk, data risk, operational risk, model risk, or related fields with familiarity on risk and AI governance frameworks.
• Expertise in forming an independent, integrated view across interlinked technology and digital risk domains while directing specialist teams towards critical risk areas.
• Ability to provide evidence-based challenge on risk profiles, controls, governance, incidents, remediation strategies, and significant technology change decisions.
• Strong knowledge of data, AI, automation, and emerging technology risks including governance, accountability, transparency, and oversight.
• Skillful at analyzing complex data, detecting systemic patterns, and delivering actionable insights and recommendations to executive and governance bodies.
• Recognized for professional judgement, trust-building, influencing positive outcomes, and working autonomously in complex, evolving environments.
