Job description
Overview
Based in Wellington, this fixed-term contract role for 24 months at Kiwibank involves contributing to our purpose of making New Zealanders better off by fostering excellence within our Digital & Technology teams. As a Delivery Coach, you will play a vital role in elevating team capabilities, enabling effective delivery, and championing smarter working methods across the D&T landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Delivery squads to reinforce agile methodologies and enhance delivery performance.
- Coach teams on continuous improvement in planning, collaboration, and delivery aligned to company goals and customer outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and squads, guiding them through complex challenges, embracing change, and embedding sustainable delivery practices.
- Cultivate a culture that embraces continuous improvement, experimentation, and delivery excellence beyond individual teams.
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven background in Agile delivery, coaching, or senior delivery roles within complex and dynamic environments.
- Strong track record of coaching teams and stakeholders to boost delivery capabilities, using facilitation skills in workshops, ceremonies, and strategic discussions across diverse groups.
- Deep knowledge of Lean, Agile, and Flow principles, with the ability to convert data insights into actionable improvements.
- Familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps, Planview Viz, or similar platforms for monitoring delivery performance and driving continuous enhancements.
- Competence in coaching teams on data literacy to enable interpretation of performance metrics for informed decision-making and prioritization.
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI technologies (such as Copilot, AI assistants, automation tools) to augment coaching efforts, generate insights, and optimize delivery processes.
- Application of Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable methodologies to achieve measurable gains in delivery efficiency, quality, and flow.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Exposure to working in financial services or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and modern engineering workflows.
- Possession of Agile, coaching, or delivery-related certifications.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformational or change management initiatives.
