Interior Designer

Job Overview

We are seeking an Interior Designer who will serve as the main contact for specific projects, engaging directly with clients to understand their needs and converting these into actionable design strategies. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and site teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects.
• Participate in client consultations to grasp requirements and develop feasible design solutions.
• Liaise effectively with consultants, contractors, vendors, and onsite personnel.
• Create concepts, mood boards, material selections, presentation drawings, and design proposals.
• Support both interior and façade design development processes.
• Produce and evaluate detailed technical drawings such as GA drawings, ceiling layouts, elevations, joinery and flooring plans, wall paneling, toilet details, and coordination drawings for site use.
• Develop working drawings that align with site conditions and facilitate project execution.
• Conduct site visits for measurements, ensure drawing accuracy during implementation, and address design or detailing challenges on site.
• Prepare SketchUp models and manage rendering, presentation materials, and documentation sets.
• Incorporate AI tools where applicable to assist with design reference gathering, concept refinement, mood boards, and to enhance presentation and workflow efficiency.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Proficient technical knowledge and strong detailing capability.
• Comprehensive understanding of materials, finishes, construction techniques, and site execution processes.
• Capacity to manage projects independently while coordinating with various stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, follow-up, and client engagement abilities.
• Practical problem-solving skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
• Basic familiarity with AI tools and enthusiasm for integrating these in design workflows.

Mandatory Software Proficiencies

• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Photoshop
• PowerPoint

Preferred Software Skills

• Rendering tools such as V-Ray, Enscape, or D5.
• AI-driven design, visualization, presentation, or productivity applications.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on healthcare or hospital interior projects is advantageous.
• Exposure to renovation, retrofit, or adaptive reuse assignments is a benefit.
• Background in site execution coordination is preferred.
• Experience with façade design or related coordination is an added asset.
