Job description
Role Summary
The Insurance Coordinator holds a pivotal position in supporting the insurance and risk management operations within the company. The incumbent is responsible for managing insurance policies related to construction projects, corporate assets, personnel, and overall operational activities. This includes ensuring efficient claims processing and adherence to insurance regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all insurance policies associated with corporate and project requirements.
- Facilitate obtaining suitable insurance coverage for construction initiatives, company assets, employees, and daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of insurance documents, including endorsements, renewals, and policy details.
- Continuously monitor insurance validity to guarantee compliance with contract obligations and legal standards.
- Provide support regarding insurance needs for construction projects such as high-rise buildings, infrastructure, and large residential or commercial developments.
- Assist in managing Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) and Principal-Controlled Insurance Programs (PCIP).
- Collaborate with project teams to align insurance coverage with contract terms and risk profiles.
- Handle insurance categories including Motor and Non-Motor (e.g., STRATA), Medical and Life Insurance, Professional Indemnity, Cyber Liability, Directors & Officers policies, Workers’ Compensation, Construction Insurance (CAR, EAR, OCIP, PCIP), and Property and Asset Insurance.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as ACII or AIII are strongly favored.
- At least six years of progressive experience managing insurance, with a focus on large-scale developments, tall towers, and distinctive construction projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in overseeing OCIP and PCIP policies for complex and extensive projects.
- Deep understanding of insurance policy language, clauses, and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to work effectively with developers, insurers, brokers, and reinsurers.
