Primary Responsibilities and Function

• Execute routine engineering, design, and analysis tasks using current technologies, standards, templates, and catalogued products under supervision, while producing original designs and contributing to process and design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accepted engineering and design standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
• Facilitate standardization of equipment specs, drawings, and documentation templates within the discipline.
• Enhance understanding of technical knowledge, legal directives, and customer requirements in adherence to regulations and lawful boundaries.
• Apply local and global standards to maintain technical excellence in instrumentation and control engineering.
• Support checking, peer review, and integration of feedback processes.
• Guarantee use of recognized onshore and offshore engineering practices in instrumentation and control design.
• Prepare detailed design specifications for instrumentation and control activities.
• Understand project scope, cost, and timelines; assist in meeting team goals and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure successful outcomes.
• Monitor and manage project changes, collaborating with project management to address staffing, scope alterations, or other factors impacting project delivery and profitability.
• Plan and supervise discipline quality assurance activities including squad checks; participate actively and initiate improvements as needed.
• Provide technical support to the discipline team, liaise with project teams, and consult necessary resources.
• Manage review and approval of design and interface requirements aligned with client needs.
• Compile data from various sources, perform engineering studies, analyses, and calculations.
• Identify technical challenges, evaluate solutions with their advantages and disadvantages, and recommend actions via official documentation like technical queries and deviations.
• Develop final project documents consolidating all essential information and secure client approvals.
• Handle discipline-specific engineering services such as scope change identification, study contributions, detailed design and drawings preparation, specification and calculation development, as well as support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Internalize and communicate Worley’s values and strategy, translating them into actionable goals for self and team.
• Adhere to Quality Assurance systems and guidelines in all work processes.
• Assume responsibility for personal safety and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
• Integrate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) considerations into design and practice, emphasizing process safety and best practices.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety management, regulations, codes, and industry standards.
• Possess substantial experience in brownfield and asset services projects/contracts.
• Maintain strong technical and practical engineering capabilities, consistently delivering precise, high-quality work.
• Develop proficiency in instrumentation and control fundamentals and familiarize with requirements from other related engineering disciplines.
• Apply knowledge of local standards and applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Be proficient with relevant discipline-specific and general software, including MS Office; conduct valve and flow element sizing calculations.
• Understand design principles for systems like DCS, ESD, FF, SCADA, Foundation Fieldbus, Telecommunications, and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
• Bring familiarity with SHELL Design Engineering Practices (DEPs), BP recommended standards, and international codes.
• Experience with Smart Plant / SPI software, functional safety tools such as SIL studies, and ability to contribute to control and shutdown narratives is advantageous.
• Exhibit effective teamwork and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships within diverse teams, and clearly presenting and documenting information in English.
• Show enthusiasm, persistence, initiative, and eagerness to learn and improve continuously.
• Handle multiple projects of varying scope and complexity while sharing knowledge across teams.
• Maintain a safety culture by identifying and reporting hazards and incidents, contributing to ongoing HSE improvements.
• Hold a full-time bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering from an accredited university and possess Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) accreditation or willingness to obtain it during probation.
• Professional certifications such as Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Functional Safety Engineering certifications from TUV or EXIDA are advantageous.
