Position Overview
Join a prominent technology firm that delivers critical, secure systems supporting the UK's key sectors. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, develop, and manage advanced hybrid platforms integrating both cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This role offers an exciting chance to implement technologies like Kubernetes, automation frameworks, and cloud-native tools to power national security applications while fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and teamwork.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain infrastructure systems spanning on-premises and cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Innovate with container orchestration using Kubernetes, implement Infrastructure as Code through tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Ensure infrastructure security and compliance by adopting governance best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure challenges using a problem-solving approach.
- Leverage monitoring and visualization technologies like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK to optimize performance and availability.
- Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders in agile settings to continuously enhance solutions.
Candidate Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in infrastructure engineering across hybrid cloud and on-premises setups.
- Proficient with Kubernetes architecture including pods, services, deployments, and networking concepts, as well as containerization technologies (Docker).
- Experienced in platform engineering and knowledgeable of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem.
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Familiar with GitOps methodologies and tools such as Argo CD.
- Competent in scripting languages like Python and Shell scripting.
- Knowledgeable about container orchestration tools such as Docker Swarm and Apache Mesos.
- Experienced with service mesh technologies like Istio and Linkerd.
- Proficient in monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
- Understands and applies governance, security, and compliance standards to infrastructure solutions.
- Worked in agile teams and used version control systems such as Git.
