Senior C++ Software Engineer, Cloud Applications (Embedded)

Overview

We invite an experienced Senior Software Engineer to spearhead the creation and deployment of our advanced Robotaxi platform software. You'll be developing distributed systems that operate on vehicle edge computers, focusing on real-time Autonomous Vehicle-to-Cloud data pipelines. This foundation supports critical functions such as fleet management, remote vehicle operations, and safety mechanisms for passengers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop a high-performing, low-latency data pipeline facilitating reliable communication between vehicles and cloud services over cellular networks.
• Lead the creation of in-vehicle software modules that support monitoring, dispatch, and control functionalities initiated from the cloud.
• Collaborate closely with product management, cloud engineers, and operations teams to translate business objectives into scalable system architectures.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and promote best practices to uphold superior code quality.
• Work hand-in-hand with testing and operations teams to devise validation methods ensuring smooth deployment and adoption in the field.

Candidate Profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering with strong proficiency in modern C++ standards (C++11/14/17) within Linux environments.
• Proven expertise in designing and optimizing multi-threaded asynchronous systems where performance optimization and efficient memory handling are essential.
• In-depth understanding of data structures, algorithms, and operating system primitives.
• Experience managing complete feature lifecycles from ideation through design, implementation, testing, and deployment phases.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments emphasizing continuous delivery and integration.
• Experience building applications interfacing with cloud-native platforms such as AWS IoT Core or Azure IoT, handling telemetry, remote commands, and secure over-the-air updates.

Additional Advantageous Skills

• Familiarity with distributed systems communication protocols and middleware technologies like DDS, gRPC, MQTT, and Protobuf.
• Experience with ARM-based embedded hardware and cross-compilation environments.
• Competency in scripting or tooling languages like Python or Golang.
• Proven ability to lead cross-geographical technical projects involving globally dispersed teams.
