About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply expertise in engineering, automation, and DevOps best practices to build and maintain secure, robust, and scalable platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and platform specialists to diagnose and solve intricate technical problems.
  • Recreate tests, validate configurations, improve CI/CD pipelines, and automate essential elements of the software development lifecycle to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure quality assurance of applications deployed into Infrastructure-as-Code environments such as Puppet-managed systems and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies like Kanban or Scrum meetings to contribute to work planning, estimation, and prioritization within a high-performing cross-functional team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency with Kubernetes orchestration and management.
  • Experience using Argo for continuous delivery.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Rancher platform.
  • Cloud infrastructure and platform experience.
  • Strong Linux administration skills.
  • Competence with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Puppet or similar.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Java, and Bash.
  • Familiarity working with source control systems like Git or SVN.

While candidates are not expected to have expertise in all areas, experience in multiple facets, quick learning ability, and willingness to contribute across the technology stack are highly valued.

Additional Information

This role requires a high level of UK Security Clearance due to the sensitive nature of the projects. Candidates must be sole British nationals, with at least ten years residency in the UK and no more than 28 consecutive days outside the country in the past five years. Candidates without clearance are encouraged to apply as they may be considered for this and other positions within the company.

The position is primarily based on a secure client site in London and requires on-site presence five days a week, though occasional flexibility may be permitted based on business and security considerations.
