About the Role

Our public sector client in County Offaly is seeking an experienced ICT Co-Ordinator for a 12-month temporary assignment, with possible extensions. This full-time position requires onsite presence and involves working 35 hours per week. Compensation is €33.52 per hour, equating to an annualized salary of €61,219. The role includes 30 days of annual leave and paid bank holidays, as well as access to appropriate travel arrangements to fulfill job responsibilities. Flexibility regarding working hours is essential.

Role Purpose

The main objective is to develop, oversee, and expand the client's Information and Communication Technology services while ensuring the data's availability and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the comprehensive development of ICT strategies in alignment with the client’s priorities.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Consultants, Director of Nursing, and Heads of Service.
  • Manage the execution and support of National ICT initiatives.
  • Ensure staff have access to necessary infrastructure, support, and development resources.
  • Coordinate with HR to conduct ICT training needs assessments and formulate development plans.
  • Work with the Financial Accountant to maintain expenditure controls within agreed budgets and comply with financial plans.
  • Prepare ICT capital investment plans, in consultation with Finance and other stakeholders, for new initiatives and equipment replacement.
  • Ensure integration of all patient-centric information systems through system interfacing.
  • Implement client ICT security policies across networks and PCs effectively.
  • Guarantee systems are regularly backed up and recoverable.
  • Assist in procurement of necessary hardware and software.
  • Monitor Service Desk performance to ensure adequate staff support.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Department on website maintenance and development.
  • Ensure valid service contracts for hardware/software maintenance are in place, complying with national ICT approval processes and financial regulations.
  • Establish cyber security measures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Coordinate with the client on cyber security matters and provide copies of all ICT contracts and service agreements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register of all client PCs.
  • Respond promptly to ICT incidents and work closely on critical incident management.
  • Ensure availability of Business Intelligence Unit services to management teams.
  • Remain familiar with relevant workplace safety and health legislation.
  • Understand applicable Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards and comply with associated protocols.
  • Support and participate actively in sustainable energy, water, and waste initiatives to foster a low carbon, efficient health service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Proven track record delivering ICT services in complex organizational settings.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of ICT applications, computer literacy, and familiarity with common office automation tools.
  • Understanding of ICT support delivery.
  • Experience with database management systems.
  • Familiarity with patient-based information systems or electronic health records (e.g., IPIMS) used within client settings.
  • Proficiency in preparing and delivering training programs.
  • Awareness of client operations and policies.
  • Knowledge of procurement policies and budget management.
  • Experience managing networks and servers, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Competence in cyber security principles and an understanding of related obligations.
