Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned IBM DataPower & IBM API Connect (APIC) Administrator to join our team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role demands extensive practical experience managing enterprise API gateways, OpenShift platforms, and API security in both Production and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support IBM DataPower Gateway and IBM API Connect operations, ensuring sustained availability and reliability.
- Handle deployments, configurations, and troubleshooting for APIs and gateway services.
- Lead migration efforts of APIs and related services from virtual machines to OpenShift containerized environments.
- Manage API lifecycles, implement security policies, and control SSL certificates and access permissions.
- Work collaboratively with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for smooth deployment cycles and release management.
- Conduct system monitoring, perform performance optimization, and swiftly resolve any production issues.
- Maintain comprehensive operational documentation aligned with ITIL practices.
Mandatory Requirements
- Hands-on expertise with Akamai Noname API Security platform is essential; candidates proficient with similar API security tools such as Salt Security, Traceable AI, or Imperva API Security will also be valued.
- Minimum of five years direct experience working with IBM DataPower Gateway and IBM API Connect administration.
- Proven ability in managing and supporting both Production and UAT API environments.
- Strong background in OpenShift and container orchestration.
- Experience in migrating APIs from VM-based to OpenShift-based infrastructure.
- Deep technical understanding of RESTful APIs, OAuth, JWT, TLS, SSL certificates, and API security principles.
- Familiar with Linux system administration and basic networking concepts.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the banking or financial services sectors is advantageous.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level API management solutions.
- Background in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, DevOps methodologies, and containerized systems.
- Holders of IBM or cloud certifications will be given preference.
