Join a reputable Australian mechanical contracting firm with nearly 20 years of experience delivering award-winning projects. We are searching for a skilled HVAC Estimator to join our Sydney-based mechanical services team, playing a vital role on prestigious commercial infrastructure projects.

Role Overview

The HVAC Estimator will prepare precise and competitive bids for sophisticated commercial mechanical ventures. Collaboration with design, project management, and construction teams is key to delivering innovative HVAC solutions tailored to complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive cost estimates and tender documents for mechanical HVAC projects.
• Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing.
• Conduct site inspections and evaluations when necessary.
• Take part in tender review sessions, handovers, and value engineering workshops.
• Provide the estimating team with technical guidance and commercial insights.
• Keep detailed databases of pricing, materials, and labor costs up to date.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years’ experience in HVAC estimating.
• Demonstrated success on Tier 1 or Tier 2 commercial projects.
• Diverse sector exposure including hospitals, data centers, retail, and industrial settings.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and installation practices.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Trade qualification or tertiary degree in mechanical engineering or building services is preferred.

Preferred Background

• Experience delivering Design & Construct projects.
• Understanding of compliance standards and sustainability regulations.
• Familiarity with Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) approaches.
• Experience working in critical environments like hospitals and data centres.
