Job description
Overview
The Human Resources Manager at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar, serves as a key member of the property's HR team. This role involves collaborating with HR staff to manage daily operations within the Human Resources Office, including recruiting, compensation, training, and development. The manager focuses on delivering HR services that align with employee needs and promote business success, while ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and procedures.
Education and Experience
- Possess a high school diploma or GED with at least three years of experience in human resources, management operations, or a related field,
- OR hold a two-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar discipline, with at least one year of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in interviewing and hiring HR team members with suitable skills,
- Establish and maintain connections with external recruitment sources,
- Participate in job fairs and document outreach efforts according to HR SOPs,
- Network with local organizations to source candidates for current or future roles,
- Oversee candidate identification and selection, providing expertise to property managers on hiring procedures,
- Coordinate with vendors to advertise vacancies effectively and attract diverse applicants,
- Perform quality control on candidate selection processes,
- Manage unemployment claims by collaborating with service providers, auditing claims for accuracy, and representing the property at hearings,
- Ensure availability of resources for administering employee benefits,
- Support new hire orientation and training programs, ensuring employees are cross-trained and leadership is involved,
- Facilitate ongoing training initiatives and use on-the-job training tools,
- Maintain effective employee communication channels and assist in property-wide meetings,
- Review discipline documentation for accuracy and support, handle employee concerns via an open-door policy, and escalate issues as needed,
- Partner with Loss Prevention for accident investigations and manage performance expectations consistent with job descriptions,
- Ensure proper maintenance, security, and compliance of employee files and medical records according to privacy laws,
- Manage drug testing processes where applicable, communicate workplace rules and safety policies regularly,
- Monitor claims in coordination with regional offices to ensure timely resolution and appropriate reserves,
- Represent HR on the Safety Committee and work to enhance workplace safety,
- Oversee selection and offer processes to guarantee procedural fairness and timely candidate communications.
