Host/Hostess

Position Overview

Join Four Points by Sheraton in Kigali as a Host/Hostess. You will be the welcoming face of the dining area, responsible for greeting guests, seating them comfortably, and ensuring an organized and pleasant dining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and ascertain the number of guests in each party.
• Escort guests to available and clean tables, pull out chairs, and place updated, spotless menus before each guest.
• Guide and assist guests as needed throughout their dining experience.
• Rearrange tables and chairs to meet specific group requirements and optimize seating arrangements.
• Verify that each seating area is appropriately set with clean silverware, napkins, and all standard items.
• Ensure an adequate supply of clean, unwrinkled, and up-to-date menus.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas consistently throughout the day, adhering to continuous cleaning standards.
• Oversee seating availability in dining rooms, uphold service quality, security, and guest comfort.
• Adhere to all chain safety policies and procedures, promptly reporting accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions; participate in safety trainings and obtain required certifications.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, wearing a clean, complete uniform and safeguarding company confidentiality and assets.
• Welcome and attend to guests in accordance with chain standards, communicating courteously and clearly including when answering telephone calls.
• Foster positive and constructive relationships with colleagues, collaborating to meet shared objectives and addressing work-related issues professionally.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and company requirements.
• Be prepared to work on your feet, seated, and moving for extended periods.
• Independently move, lift, carry, pull, and place loads up to 4.5 kilograms as needed.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors that align with the role.

Qualifications and Experience

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent educational attainment.
• No previous work experience required; prior exposure to a restaurant or food service setting is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is necessary.
• No licenses or certifications are mandatory.
