Role Overview
The Host position at Barnda is a full-time onsite role based in Jeddah. The main responsibilities include warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations along with walk-in customers, and efficiently coordinating seating arrangements to maximize table turnover and enhance guest satisfaction. Daily duties involve handling phone inquiries, maintaining an orderly waiting list, and liaising closely with serving staff and management to communicate table availability. The Host also ensures the entrance, host stand, and menus are kept neat and presentable, while supporting the team by providing accurate information about the restaurant’s menu and services. This role demands a calm and professional attitude, particularly during peak periods, with a consistent focus on delivering a high-quality guest experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication abilities to interact respectfully and clearly with both guests and team members.
- Strong customer service skills to offer friendly, efficient, and courteous assistance to visitors.
- Basic training experience to grasp hosting procedures and assist with onboarding new colleagues.
- Understanding of food and beverage service standards to facilitate seating and smooth front-of-house operations.
- Awareness of general sales techniques to promote specials, encourage repeat business, and support upselling efforts.
- Capacity to stay organized and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting, particularly during busy service hours.
- Previous hospitality or front-of-house restaurant experience is preferred.
- Willingness and availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational demands.
