Job description
Position Overview
This permanent full-time role starts in Term 4, 2026, based in the Kalgoorlie regional office, servicing home education families in Kalgoorlie and the North country region of Western Australia.
About the Regional Office
The Goldfields Education Regional Office collaborates closely with Central Office and Statewide Services to provide school support through policy advice, resource management, project oversight, contract administration, and quality assurance initiatives. These efforts aim at enhancing educational outcomes for students in the region.
Role Responsibilities
Under the School Education Act, parents can register as home educators who guide their children’s compulsory schooling at home. As a Home School Moderator, you will engage constructively with these families to assess their educational programs and student progress, ensuring alignment with the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline. This involves conducting thorough and efficient evaluations, offering respectful guidance to improve educational programs and monitoring student development consistently.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must possess a qualifying teacher degree and valid registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa permitting work for the duration of the appointment.
- Will apply for a Western Australia Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a Screening Clearance Number from the Department’s Screening Unit before starting.

All applications need to be submitted online and include two professional referees (preferably one current supervisor), a statement of up to four pages demonstrating your abilities relevant to Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, and a CV not exceeding four pages detailing employment and professional development relevant to the position.
