About the Role
This permanent full-time role begins in Term 4, 2026, at the Eastern Goldfields Education Support Centre (EGESC) located in South Kalgoorlie. EGESC specialises in supporting high school students with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder with high educational needs, often with additional complex conditions. The centre operates alongside Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School but functions independently with its own leadership and tailored programs focused on student engagement, curriculum, skill building, and post-school pathways.
Key Responsibilities
As a Library Officer, you will ensure smooth daily operations of the library, providing reference and information services to students, staff, and parents. You will manage and process library resources for easy access, conduct library skills training for effective resource utilization, and help select suitable program and age-appropriate materials to support curriculum requirements. Additional duties include preparing and monitoring the library budget, suggesting new resources, coordinating library visits, offering technical guidance on library IT systems, and supervising staff and students within the library environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the duration of employment.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Working With Children Check prior to commencing employment.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain current Screening Clearance from the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before starting the role.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills aligned with customer service principles.
- Exhibit good interpersonal skills along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in teams.
- Have proficiency in using computers and diverse application software, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processors.
- Experience in administrative support, with well-developed organisational and task prioritisation skills.
