Job Summary
Deliver exceptional service to create a memorable customer experience while maintaining a safe, clean environment that promotes return visits. Support the department manager in achieving sales and profit objectives, ensuring all quality assurance standards are met. Uphold the Customer 1st approach and motivate team members to provide outstanding service. Demonstrate the company’s core values including respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate trust and respect among team members.
- Ensure customers feel welcomed, valued, and assisted by addressing inquiries about department and store products.
- Acquire and maintain product knowledge within the department to effectively address questions and suggest items.
- Provide product samples to introduce customers to new or requested products.
- Inform customers about Drug GM and Home department specials.
- Recommend appropriate Drug GM and Home products to meet customer needs.
- Monitor sell-by dates on merchandise and take necessary actions.
- Label, stock, and manage inventory within the department.
- Report any discrepancies in product orders or shipments to the department manager.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
- Support safety initiatives by adhering to procedures, identifying hazards, and notifying management.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report repair needs to appropriate personnel.
- Report any accidents involving customers or employees promptly.
- Alert management to safety risks, unsafe conditions, or illegal activities such as theft or fraud.
- Perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
- Minimum: ability to manage stressful situations, effective communication skills, basic math knowledge including counting, addition, and subtraction.
- Preferred: prior retail experience, proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, or writing).
