About the Role

Our stores are dynamic environments fueled by a passion for food and delivering excellent service. As a Home Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in bringing everything our online customers order at Sainsbury's directly to their front door.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a 3.5 tonne van to ensure groceries reach customers punctually and in excellent condition.
• Conduct pre-drive inspections to maintain vehicle cleanliness, organization, roadworthiness, and secure loading of delivery cases.
• Provide outstanding customer service by assisting with queries, managing substitutions, and communicating any delivery delays.
• Develop detailed knowledge of products, services, and promotions to offer informed recommendations.
• Support in-store activities and operations during periods without delivery duties.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid UK/EU full driving license held for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of six penalty points.
• Completion of an online driving risk assessment during the interview process and a driving assessment upon joining is required.
• Right to work eligibility within the UK is mandatory.

• Capable of maneuvering a large vehicle safely through diverse environments such as busy urban streets and narrow rural lanes.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced, physically demanding setting, excelling both independently and as a team member.
• Willing and able to work flexibly across store duties, with training opportunities to learn and grow in various skills.
• Comfortable using digital tools and technology as part of the job, and capable of lifting containers up to 15 kg.
• Committed to safe driving practices supported by in-cab AI camera systems monitoring behavior and compliance.
