Customer Delivery Driver

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will play a pivotal role by delivering orders directly to customers' homes, embodying warmth, energy, and care while fulfilling our pledge to provide customers exactly what they order online from us.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the company at customer doorsteps, ensuring a friendly, considerate, and helpful delivery experience.
• Operate a 3.5-ton refrigerated van to transport groceries promptly and in perfect condition.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, roadworthiness, and secure storage of customer items prior to departure.
• Adhere to planned routes, practicing safe driving through various traffic conditions, weather scenarios, and road types.
• Handle containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver goods to diverse properties, which might involve stairs, lifts, or longer walks.
• Maintain excellent communication with customers by providing updates on delays, addressing queries, and notifying them of any order alterations.
• Assist within the store as needed when not on delivery rounds.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 with a valid full UK/EU driving license held for at least 12 months, carrying no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to Work status within the UK is mandatory.
• Completion of an online driving risk assessment during interview and a practical driving evaluation upon joining.
• Comfort with driving larger vehicles safely across various environments, including city centers, residential areas, and rural roads.
• Capability to work efficiently in a dynamic, physically demanding role involving frequent handling of 15kg containers.
• Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to make safe judgments while on the road.
• Enjoys both autonomous work and effective collaboration within the store team.
• Flexibility to undertake varying tasks across the store and eagerness to embrace new challenges.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and use delivery route technology confidently.
