About the Role
White Gold, a leader in the gold buying and retail industry, seeks a seasoned professional to lead its operational activities across multiple states. Based at the Bengaluru Head Office, this full-time leadership position requires robust experience in managing large-scale, secure, and compliant gold processing operations spanning over 60 branches across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala.
Responsibilities
- Lead and guide Gold Processing Managers across various states to ensure consistent operational quality.
- Oversee all stages of gold handling including collection, verification, processing, certification, and sales.
- Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) uniformly across all branches and units.
- Monitor the safe transit of gold from branches to regional hubs and the central office.
- Ensure precise measurement of gold weights, billing accuracy, removal of stones, melting processes, and purity certifications.
- Manage the sale of gold to bidders, ensuring maximum returns for the company.
- Gather, consolidate, and analyze operational data across states to inform management decisions.
- Prepare detailed MIS and reports on volumes, discrepancies, processing durations, and sales outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and audit guidelines.
- Enhance security protocols and risk management frameworks for handling high-value transactions.
- Identify deficiencies in operations and lead corrective initiatives to close gaps.
- Drive business expansion by standardizing processes and improving operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and Business Development departments to align operational strategies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Operations Management, or relevant fields.
- Total operations experience between 12 and 15 years, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven experience managing multi-location or multi-state operations, preferably in gold or high-value transaction industries.
Skill Set
- Deep understanding of gold buying and processing workflows.
- Expertise in managing multi-state operational networks.
- Strong capabilities in MIS preparation and data analysis.
- Experience establishing and maintaining SOPs and process standardization.
- Proficiency in risk mitigation and internal control systems.
- Exemplary leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and decision-making aptitude.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates with experience in gold, precious metals, jewellery, financial services, NBFCs, retail, or other related sectors involving high-value transactions will have an advantage.
