About the Role

Join Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen as a Head Chef/Cook, where you'll play a central role in delivering an authentic Mexican food experience. This role involves mentoring and enhancing the skills of the kitchen team while partnering with the Restaurant Manager to monitor critical operational metrics such as cost of goods sold (COGS), labor, and other expenses.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training and developing all kitchen staff to ensure high-quality culinary standards and efficient service.
• Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager in managing financials including monitoring COGS, labor costs, and other operational expenditures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience working in a kitchen or cooking position within a fast-paced hospitality setting.
• Proven leadership skills with experience guiding and nurturing kitchen teams.
• Capability to analyze and communicate key kitchen financial metrics such as stock variances, wastage, and cost control.
• Possession of a certificate in commercial cookery or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
