About the Role
The Home Depot is seeking a Head Cashier to support the Front End Supervisor by encouraging front-end associates to consistently demonstrate GET behaviours and deliver an excellent customer shopping experience. This role involves coaching, training, and developing Front End and Lot Associates, scheduling to ensure proper coverage, and acting as the first point of escalation for customer issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Model positive behaviours and foster high associate morale.
- Maintain optimal checkout availability by ensuring no more than one person at the register and two waiting in line.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs focusing on customer experience, ensuring store readiness as per corporate guidelines.
- Monitor staffing and work activities to meet business demands.
- Provide training, coaching, and recognition to associates to help them meet expectations or grow professionally.
- Communicate leadership goals and priorities effectively to the front-end team.
- Ensure the parking lot is clean and free from debris.
- Allocate backup cashiers to designated registers as needed and assist in operating cash machines.
- Support security personnel during cash collection procedures.
- Adhere strictly to Safety and Loss Prevention policies, ensuring front-end adherence to asset protection processes.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Work environment includes warehouse conditions that may be dusty and noisy.
- Frequent exposure to temperature fluctuations due to open doors.
- Physical tasks include bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years of retail or cashier experience preferred.
- At least 1 year of leadership experience managing people.
Additional Information
- No travel requirements for this position.
- Reports directly to the Department Supervisor.
