About the Role

Join our team as a Hardware Sales Associate, where your enthusiasm for helping customers succeed and your eagerness to learn will be highly valued. This role focuses on delivering fast and friendly service by engaging with customers to understand their project needs and guiding them towards the best solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting, engaging, and thanking customers in accordance with the GET Model.
  • Proactively approach customers throughout the store, assist them by taking them to the appropriate merchandise, irrespective of department boundaries.
  • Ask open-ended questions to uncover customer project details and their expertise level.
  • Promote Home Depot’s various services including Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services.
  • Discuss product options across different price points (good, better, best) and suggest complementary items or services that customers may require.
  • Educate customers on the full scope of their projects to enhance their buying experience.
  • Utilize empowerment programs where applicable to resolve customer needs satisfactorily.
  • Maintain daily stock tasks such as ensuring all products are signed, properly displayed, and clean.
  • Continuously improve product knowledge within your department and adjacent ones by proactive learning.
  • Adhere strictly to safety policies, including Loss Prevention protocols.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably 1 to 2 years of retail or trade experience.

Work Environment and Physical Aspects

  • Flexible schedule that may entail evening and weekend shifts.
  • Work conditions may include a warehouse environment with dust and noise, frequent drafts from open doors, and fluctuating interior temperatures.
  • Physical activities such as bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise.

Additional Information

  • No travel requirements for this position.
  • Department Supervisor will be your direct manager.
  • Leadership or certification requirements are not applicable.
