Primary Responsibilities
- Performing maintenance and repair tasks on residential and commercial projects, typically lasting from two hours to two days
- Engaging with customers to advise on necessary work and clearly manage cost and scope expectations
- Providing excellent service to cultivate repeat, long-term customers by following the proven Mr. Handyman way
- Working independently on most assignments
- Collecting payments from customers at job completion
- Using personal tools and technology to document work thoroughly per company procedures
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and protective booties to respect customer properties
Requirements
- Residence within proximity to the service area
- At least eight years of paid experience as a professional handyman
- Ownership of personal tools and equipment
- Insurable to drive company vehicle
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance
- Comfort and capability to work safely at heights and overhead for extended periods
- Maintain a professional appearance and care for the company vehicle
Skills Proficiency Areas
- Carpentry skills
- Bathroom remodeling and improvements
- Kitchen updating and repairs
- Interior and exterior painting
- Drywall repair and installation, minor to major
- General plumbing and electrical work (subject to legal allowances)
- Floor installation and refinishing
