Key Responsibilities
- Performing various small- to medium-sized maintenance and repair tasks in residential and commercial settings, with project durations ranging from a couple of hours to two days
- Effectively communicating with clients to clarify work details and managing expectations related to scope and costs
- Providing exceptional service to cultivate lifelong repeat customers by consistently following the established Mr. Handyman Way process
- Self-managing daily activities since much of the work is solo
- Handling customer payment collections responsibly
- Utilizing personal tools and technological devices proficiently for job documentation in accordance with company standards
- Maintaining safety by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and protective coverings in client homes
Minimum Job Requirements
- Residency within the service area
- At least 8 years of paid professional handyman experience
- Ownership of essential tools required for the job
- Valid insurability to operate the company vehicle
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to safely perform tasks at heights and overhead work for extended time periods
- Professional grooming and upkeep of company vehicle
Technical Skills and Expertise
Applicants should possess strong skills in at least three of the following domains:
- Carpentry
- Bathroom renovations
- Kitchen renovations
- Interior and exterior painting
- Drywall repairs, minor and significant
- General plumbing and electrical work within legal limits
- Flooring installation and refurbishment
- Knowledge of building codes
