Job description
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer located in Melbourne, Australia, ideally working in a hybrid environment. This is a full-time role requiring 5 to 7 years of overall IT experience, with a strong focus on hands-on development in Guidewire PolicyCenter. Candidates must hold a current and valid Guidewire PolicyCenter ACE Certification to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, configure, and customize applications within the Guidewire PolicyCenter platform.
- Create and maintain business rules, workflows, product models, and integration components.
- Work collaboratively with business analysts, solution architects, quality assurance teams, and other stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, supporting releases and deployments.
- Engage actively in Agile processes, including participation in ceremonies, code reviews, testing activities, and defect resolution.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a current and valid Guidewire PolicyCenter ACE Certification (mandatory).
- Have between 5 and 7 years of general IT experience.
- At least 4 years of direct hands-on development experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
- Experience working on implementation, enhancement, migration, or upgrade projects using Guidewire PolicyCenter.
- Strong knowledge of Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain.
- Solid understanding of Guidewire best practices and architectural design patterns.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter Configuration.
- Proficiency in Gosu programming language, Guidewire Studio, and PCF (Page Configuration Files).
- Hands-on experience with Product Model and Data Model configuration within PolicyCenter.
- Working knowledge of Rules Engine, Typelists, and Batch Process management.
- Experience with REST and SOAP Web Services as well as Integration Framework concepts.
- Understanding of SQL and database fundamentals.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or SVN.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Exposure to Guidewire Cloud platform.
- Experience with PolicyCenter upgrades and migrations.
- Familiarity with Integration Gateway, BillingCenter, ContactManager.
- Knowledge of Kafka, MuleSoft, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, and Digital Portals.
