Groundskeeper (Landscaper)

Role Overview

The Groundskeeper at The Ritz-Carlton in Doha is charged with maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of the hotel's outdoor environment, ensuring an exceptional guest experience consistent with the brand's luxury standards.

Key Duties

• Regularly inspect and maintain lawns through mowing, edging, leaf raking, and other relevant activities.
• Clean, wash, and refuel landscaping equipment after use to ensure proper upkeep.
• Take care of flower beds, hanging baskets, and planters by watering, weed removal, trimming, and maintenance.
• Empty and bag trash from all outdoor waste receptacles, maintaining cleanliness across the property.
• Preserve the condition of water features such as fountains and planters by cleaning, repairing, or replacing components as needed.
• Repair and sustain sidewalks, driveways, cart paths, and parking lots through crack filling and hole patching to ensure safety and appearance.
• Operate vehicles and machinery, such as tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles, for transporting equipment and supplies.
• Adhere to company safety and security protocols, report any hazards, accidents, or faulty equipment promptly, and complete all required safety training.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; safeguard confidential company information and assets.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet shared objectives.
• Physically inspect tools, machinery, and equipment for defects or issues.
• Perform physical activities including standing, walking, sitting for long shifts, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds unassisted, and navigating uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Engage in continuous use of manual dexterity and coordinate fine motor skills in daily tasks.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Less than one year of relevant landscaping or grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No certifications or licenses necessary.
