Grocery Trainee Management Specialist

Role Overview

This position supports the implementation of Grocery Merchandising programs within the division. The role involves managing product displays, handling orders, reducing out-of-stock situations, and maintaining the overall presentation of grocery departments while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service experiences.
• Prepare and place grocery orders accurately.
• Load and unload merchandise for store distribution.
• Execute pricing updates as necessary.
• Stock shelves efficiently with products.
• Organize and set up promotional displays.
• Manage Frozen Food, Dairy, and Bakery sections including inventory rotations and ordering.
• Coordinate merchandise flow—organize stock rooms, handle damaged goods, manage spoils and salvage.
• Retrieve shopping carts as needed.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Store Manager.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative.
• Adept at thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for night shifts and flexible working hours including mornings and evenings.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of retail experience if no post-secondary education.
• Combination of post-secondary education and retail experience totaling at least 3 years, with a minimum of 6 months retail experience.
• Bachelor’s degree holders must have at least 6 months of retail experience.
• Previous grocery retail experience is preferred.
