About the Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to tackle key challenges in electrical grid infrastructure and accelerate electrification efforts. The Grid and Solutions Specialist will focus on issues such as grid constraints, power and load system modeling, site layouts, network connections, charging demands, and grid services. Collaborating closely with customers, electricity network operators, and internal teams, this role aims to translate complex grid challenges into effective, practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
You will analyze real customer sites to evaluate charging demand, load modeling, network constraints, tariffs, storage options, and grid services, proposing optimal solutions. Beyond theoretical modeling, you will facilitate grid connection processes by supporting customers, Electric Distribution Businesses (EDBs), and Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs). This role requires cross-team coordination with Sales, R&D, Engineering, and Solutions & Grids teams to answer multidisciplinary queries and enhance tools, models, and network playbooks to streamline project delivery.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has either formal education or strong practical experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or related disciplines. They bring knowledge and experience in electrical infrastructure, energy, utilities, distributed energy resources, EV charging, or analogous fields. A thorough understanding of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) systems, power distribution, load profiling, grid connections, and integration is essential. Practical skills in grid analysis or modeling, along with the ability to interpret network data, tariffs, and financial and technical results, are required. The role demands excellent interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships and explain complex technical topics clearly. Candidates should be pragmatic, exhibit curiosity, handle ambiguity well, proactively gather necessary information, and maintain project momentum.

Additional Information
Salary ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 annually, depending on experience.
The position is located onsite in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
