About Entura and the Role

We invite professionals from diverse backgrounds to become part of our expanding Secondary Electrical Engineering group as an Electrical Engineer focusing on Secondary Systems. This role involves applying your engineering expertise to design and engage with clients regarding the installation of Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) protection and control systems across substations, power stations, and other electrical infrastructures. Our clients range from electrical utility asset owners to renewable energy developers and more.
The position is based in Hobart, Tasmania, or Melbourne, with flexible working arrangements, including remote work options.
Core Responsibilities and Skills
- Develop design solutions for Secondary Systems in both greenfield and brownfield HV and EHV electrical installations, particularly in substations.
- Design protection, control, metering, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems tailored for electrical utility projects.
- Configure protection relays and conduct fault analysis using specialized software such as PowerFactory and Aspen.
- Contribute knowledge and experience to hybrid off-grid generation asset projects.
- Apply expertise in power system development and operational mechanics within various client environments.
Candidate Profile
You should bring at least three years of relevant experience with Secondary Systems design in high voltage electrical settings. A passion for solving challenges and the ability to mentor colleagues are highly valued. Flexibility for some travel both domestically and internationally may be necessary depending on client and project needs.
