Role Overview
We seek a Grants Officer for our Client to join the Grants, Projects, and Stakeholder Relations Team. This person will guide the entire process from spotting grant and tender opportunities, preparing applications, to reporting to stakeholders during project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new funding opportunities through market research.
- Develop and update an Annual Grants Plan listing all grant opportunities pursued or declined.
- Prepare and consolidate persuasive funding applications, including drafting detailed proposals.
- Coordinate inputs from different teams to gather all necessary information promptly.
- Ensure timely submissions of all grant requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive repository of supporting documentation for funders.
- Create and manage a Grant Tracking Tool to oversee grant status, compliance, and results.
- Assist Legal Counsel in grant or subsidy contracting procedures.
- Conduct monthly meetings with stakeholders to maintain alignment throughout programs.
- Support governance forums and monitor the implementation of strategic plans.
Qualifications and Traits
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related business fields.
- At least 3 years of proven experience with deep knowledge of grant management.
- Ability to critically evaluate proposals, identify financial and operational risks, and make evidence-based recommendations.
- A keen interest in renewable energy and rural electrification across Africa.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience working with grant funding programs.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent English writing capabilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Language
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
