Role Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and dynamic professional to fulfill the role of Procurement, Expeditor & Market Research Analyst. This person will be responsible for supporting procurement processes, managing suppliers, tracking logistics, and delivering strategic market insights. The position contributes significantly to timely sourcing, controlling costs, monitoring supplier performance, and making fact-driven decisions.

The role is positioned in sectors including mining, heavy machinery, and industrial supply.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify and assess suppliers for mining parts, heavy equipment components, consumables, and various services.
• Compile and review Requests for Quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, supplier bids, and cost comparison studies.
• Negotiate price points, delivery schedules, and payment terms with vendors locally and internationally.
• Ensure all procurement activities meet internal regulations, budget restrictions, and ethical guidelines.
• Keep precise records of procurement activities, maintain supplier databases, and manage contract documentation.
• Monitor and expedite orders from initiation to receipt.
• Coordinate between suppliers, freight agents, and internal logistics to guarantee punctual deliveries.
• Detect possible delays or risks in the supply chain and initiate corrective measures proactively.
• Manage customs paperwork and assist with import/export formalities as necessary.
• Provide management with consistent updates on order statuses, delivery timelines, and lead durations.
• Perform ongoing market research to track pricing trends, analyze supplier effectiveness, and monitor product availability.
• Evaluate market data on local, regional, and global levels to uncover cost reduction and sourcing advantages.
• Create comprehensive market intelligence documents to aid procurement and strategic planning.
• Serve as the main contact point among suppliers, logistics collaborators, and internal teams.
• Develop formal reports, summaries, and presentations tailored for leadership.
• Facilitate coordinated efforts across finance, operations, and sales departments.
• Maintain positive professional relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• At least three years of work experience in procurement, expediting, supply chain management, or market research functions.
• A solid grasp of procurement workflows, vendor sourcing techniques, and cost evaluation methods.
• Strong analytical thinking, research aptitude, and problem-resolution capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Capacity to handle stress and oversee multiple procurement tasks concurrently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and familiarity with basic procurement or ERP software systems.
• Work experience within the mining, heavy equipment, industrial supply, or engineering industries is advantageous.
