Position Overview

The Global Project and Compliance Manager plays a vital role at ZURU Baby, managing regulatory adherence in primary international markets and overseeing comprehensive project delivery in emerging markets. Acting as the principal liaison between the China Regulatory Affairs team and global departments, you will ensure consistent product compliance and coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning to completion. This dynamic, fast-paced position requires strong organizational and project leadership skills to juggle multiple priorities across countries and teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of regulatory compliance alongside China’s Regulatory Affairs team, including product registration, compliance evaluations, testing oversight, packaging approvals, and labelling standards for both new and existing SKUs.
• Serve as the bridge between China Regulatory Affairs and global stakeholders to resolve compliance issues, translate testing results into actionable regulatory decisions, and develop a seamless compliance workflow involving R&D, QA, legal, external counsel, and product management.
• Monitor regulatory changes across core markets (US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, EU), analyze impacts on product formulations, labelling, and marketing claims, and provide risk-informed recommendations for leadership.
• Manage projects end-to-end across growth markets, including planning, scheduling, dependency tracking, and ensuring timely, full delivery of initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams—including Product, R&D, QA, Regulatory, Legal, and Commercial—from New Zealand, China, and global locations, to proactively remove roadblocks and keep multiple projects on track.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in regulatory compliance within FMCG or consumer goods, specifically handling product registrations, formulation assessments, and labelling approvals across multiple international markets.
• Proficient understanding of consumer product safety and labelling regulations in key markets, with the capability to convert regulatory language into executable compliance strategies.
• Experience managing international regulatory relationships.
• Proven project management skills, successfully driving concurrent market projects to timely completion.
• Ability to operate efficiently under pressure, synthesizing diverse data sources swiftly to make accurate market readiness recommendations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong judgement to discern regulatory flexibility and identify compliance boundaries.
• Mandarin Chinese language skills are a plus, facilitating close collaboration with China teams, but not mandatory.
