Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled payroll specialist to join our Global Payroll Operations team, focusing on the APAC region, particularly Hong Kong. As Rippling expands globally, this role will be fundamental in developing new operational capabilities and deepening country-specific payroll expertise beyond the US. The Global Payroll Operations Specialist will manage all operational responsibilities related to Hong Kong payroll through collaborative engagement with external partners, while supporting our growth into new customer segments and regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely execution of payroll, filings, and payments for clients across Hong Kong.
• Lead communication and resolution of payroll issues with government bodies, partners, and customers, acting as a point of escalation as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to guarantee compliance with payroll and tax regulations within our native payroll software.
• Promptly address product bugs and errors related to calculations or file generation.
• Support prioritization and implementation of necessary internal tools to enhance payroll operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 4 years of professional experience handling payroll in Hong Kong, with a minimum of 2 years in a client-facing capacity.
• Hands-on experience operating local Hong Kong payroll software solutions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Hong Kong payroll regulations and the ability to manage end-to-end payroll processes in the region.
• Experience with payroll in other APAC countries is advantageous.
• Capability to conduct payroll duties according to company policies, social security stipulations, applicable laws, and tax requirements.
• Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office (especially Docs, Sheets, Excel) for data analysis and organizational tasks; familiarity with Salesforce queues, JIRA, and Confluence is a plus.
• Strong skills in reviewing and validating payroll computations.
• Solid understanding of payroll concepts, regulatory requirements, and leave entitlement frameworks.
• Knowledge of labor law relevant to payroll operations.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
