Join GeoSolve Ltd in Pukekohe, New Zealand, as a Geotechnical Engineer working onsite with the expanding Auckland team. Under the guidance of the Principal Engineer, you will gain direct mentorship during your professional growth. Be part of a variety of complex projects such as landslip remediation, ground improvement methods, coastal cliff stability evaluations, expert witness investigations, heritage redevelopment initiatives, and innovative foundation designs for multi-storey buildings. The company's increasing project portfolio offers extensive practical experience throughout all project phases, contributing to the development of the Auckland office.

Our pavements division, noted as the largest roading survey team in New Zealand, manages projects for NZTA highways, local roads, airports, and port facilities. This division is extending internationally, engaging in pioneering research and development on new pavement testing technologies. Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Auckland to develop and supervise geotechnical investigations and design solutions that promote safe and sustainable infrastructure and building projects.
• Plan and execute site investigations including soil sampling, laboratory and in situ testing to accurately characterize ground conditions.
• Interpret geotechnical data and create detailed technical reports with design recommendations for foundations, slope stability, and ground improvement.
• Formulate designs for geotechnical structures such as foundations, retaining walls, embankments, and ground stabilization approaches.
• Perform calculations and simulations using specialized geotechnical software and sound engineering principles.
• Design pavement systems taking into account suitable materials, anticipated traffic loads, environmental factors, and cost effectiveness.
• Assess pavement conditions and suggest maintenance or rehabilitation actions.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate geotechnical and pavement requirements effectively into project designs.
• Prepare technical specifications, method statements, and quality assurance documents.
• Oversee geotechnical and pavement works on sites, ensuring work aligns with design specifications.
• Support tender submissions and project proposals.
• Keep up-to-date with geotechnical codes, standards, and industry advancements.
• Mentor junior personnel and assist in enhancing team skills.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 to 5 years of post-graduate experience in geotechnical engineering roles.
• Competence using geotechnical analysis software such as WALLAP, Slide/SlopeW, Plaxis, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Solid grasp of soil mechanics, foundation engineering principles, and ground investigation methods.
• Familiarity with applicable geotechnical design codes and standards.
• Strong technical writing and communication abilities.
• Aptitude for both autonomous work and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional engineer registration or progression towards registration is preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and readiness to travel to project sites.
