Role Overview
As a Mine Geologist reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for maintaining geological data and supporting operational teams through specialized expertise in mine geology, coal quality assessment, mapping, modeling, and daily operational collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain the geological model for current and planned mining zones.
- Perform geotechnical inspections along with detailed geological mapping focusing on horizon control, coal quality, and structural integrity.
- Deliver geological information promptly to operational teams to inform mining activities.
- Promote and adhere to a safe working environment in line with site risk management protocols.
- Collaborate with mine management and contribute to technical services as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a tertiary qualification in Geology or a related field.
- Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and effective problem-solving skills.
- Have knowledge of and commitment to safe workplace practices.
- Previous experience in open cut mining environments is essential.
