Role Overview
The General Practitioner will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of various ages and conditions. The role is vital in ensuring employee health and safety within corporate environments by diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic health issues, delivering preventive care, educating on health maintenance, and coordinating specialist referrals as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed medical evaluations including patient history, physical exams, and diagnostic testing to assess health and identify conditions.
- Perform routine health screenings and medical checks to detect early occupational illnesses.
- Oversee the health monitoring of employees, particularly those exposed to workplace hazards.
- Lead health protection training programs for staff.
- Provide education on healthy lifestyle practices and prevention of occupational diseases.
- Order, analyze, and interpret laboratory and imaging tests to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Develop differential diagnoses and implement treatment strategies in line with clinical evidence.
- Treat acute and chronic ailments such as respiratory infections, cardiovascular issues, hypertension, and musculoskeletal problems.
- Prescribe medications, administer injections, conduct minor surgeries, and perform other necessary medical interventions.
- Manage chronic disease care through continuous monitoring, medication adjustments, and health counseling.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to design holistic care plans for complex cases.
- Deliver urgent care and triage for emergencies, stabilize patients, and coordinate transfers to advanced care facilities when needed.
- Maintain meticulous medical records electronically, documenting histories, exams, results, and treatments accurately.
- Perform additional professional medical duties as assigned.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine degree.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Occupational and Industrial Medicine.
- Valid SCFHS medical license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) along with Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Skills and Expertise
- Fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
- Strong grasp of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
- Familiarity with the use of medical equipment and electronic health record systems.
- Superior computer literacy.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Competence in diagnosing and managing diverse acute and chronic health conditions.
- Capability to deliver primary healthcare services.
- Skill in performing thorough physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
