Role Summary
This position is centered around managing financial reporting functions to ensure robust financial controls, facilitating readiness for both internal and external audits, and coordinating with bankers and auditors effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to existing and new finance policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Coordinate with finance-related departments such as HR, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure necessary evidence is prepared for internal audits.
- Identify and address control gaps or weaknesses by developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Conduct periodic visits across multiple sites to verify compliance with policies and procedures.
- Serve as the liaison with internal audit teams by providing required information.
- Prepare and file monthly VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) returns in compliance with applicable laws.
- Review maintenance and archiving of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) documents.
- Perform regular reviews on critical finance areas including Capital Expenditures (Capex), AP, and AR.
- Maintain detailed schedules related to financial statement areas for management reporting and audit readiness.
- Develop monthly reporting packages covering all financial statement components.
- Create monthly balance sheet packages for management and shareholder reviews.
- Support engagements with external parties such as bankers and legal advisors.
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations covering areas like Zakat, VAT, Transfer Pricing, and Company Law.
- Assist with company secretarial duties as needed.
- Guarantee proper bookkeeping for audit purposes.
- Liaise with external auditors and management for the preparation of statutory accounts and audit-related information.
- Coordinate quarterly physical inventory counts.
- Manage bookkeeping and audit processes for the foreign entity BMEH2.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Registered with SOCPA and actively pursuing a relevant accounting certification.
- Exceptional accuracy in numerical data and calculations.
