General Merchandise Associate

Overview

As a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart Canada, you will gain valuable experience in the retail sector by delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core values. This role involves organizing and maintaining the general merchandise floor, assisting with stocking duties, and supporting product sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous customer service, guiding shoppers in product selection, resolving concerns, and promoting store offerings.
• Maintain and zone specific sales floor areas to ensure merchandise is orderly and accessible.
• Relocate promotional items to their designated shelving locations.
• Manage merchandise recovery tasks, including restocking from the Customer Service desk and other store areas.
• Support front-end operations when needed to ensure smooth store workflow.
• Coordinate with colleagues to maintain adequate coverage on the sales floor.
• Promote a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by following company policies, completing safety inspections, and securing displays and fixtures appropriately.
• Perform stocking and downstocking of merchandise, apply product protection measures as required, and set up modular displays, including flexible arrangements and updating shelf signage.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 16 years of age.
