General Merchandise Associate

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a General Merchandise Associate offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service skills. This role centers around delivering outstanding customer service while upholding Walmart's core values, maintaining and organizing the general merchandise section, and supporting stocking and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet all customers and provide assistance by promoting products and services, helping locate merchandise, facilitating purchasing decisions, addressing customer concerns, and directing issues appropriately.
• Maintain responsibility for an assigned area on the sales floor, ensuring it is well-organized and fully stocked.
• Organize and zone your assigned section effectively to optimize presentation.
• Relocate featured merchandise to its designated shelving.
• Retrieve recovered merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other store areas.
• Support front-end operations when needed.
• Maintain consistent communication with fellow associates to ensure floor coverage.
• Contribute to a safe and clean work environment by following company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and securing displays and fixtures to avoid hazards.
• Stock products including picking and downstocking where necessary, apply product protection as required, and complete setting modular displays and shelf caps.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.90.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
