About the Role

As a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart Canada, you will engage in a fast-moving retail environment where providing excellent customer service is key. This role involves assisting customers, maintaining a clean and orderly sales floor, supporting restocking and sales initiatives, and embodying Walmart's core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, aiding product choices, promoting offerings, locating items, and addressing or referring customer concerns.
• Keep assigned sales floor areas covered, assist with Front End duties as needed, and coordinate with teammates to ensure comprehensive floor coverage and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness through zoning assigned areas and handling merchandise recovery and repositioning tasks.
• Stock products, perform downstocking, apply product protection, and execute setting of modular displays including special features and shelf arrangements.
• Adhere to safety standards by maintaining a hazard-free workplace, completing safety checks, and securing fixtures and displays.
• Remain flexible and willing to work diverse shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.

Challenges in the Role

• Effectively manage high workloads in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight hours, by planning to sustain energy and focus.
• Perform physical tasks like standing for long durations, bending, and lifting inventory/products weighing up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Handle repetitive stocking, zoning, and organizing duties consistently and attentively.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.
