About the Role and Employer
This position is with an independently owned and operated McDonald's franchise in Destrehan, LA. The franchisee operates under a license from McDonald’s to use its branding and products, but employment matters such as hiring, firing, staffing, and supervision are managed solely by the franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. Applicants understand that McDonald's USA is not involved in employment decisions or application evaluations.
Job Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing a profitable restaurant while ensuring it meets the high standards for Quality, Service, and Cleanliness set by McDonald's. Working closely with leadership, the General Manager will set goals for the restaurant and develop actionable plans to achieve them. Leadership extends to supervising and supporting Department Managers to help their respective teams achieve departmental goals, contributing to overall restaurant success.
Responsibilities
- Manage restaurant operations to ensure profitability and adherence to McDonald's customer service standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish and implement goals and strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Department and Shift Managers, including hiring and training efforts to build a capable management team.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching to departments for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience as a General Manager operating high-volume locations, preferably in quick service restaurants.
- Background in hospitality or retail is beneficial.
- Must be at least 18 years old to qualify as a manager in corporate-owned McDonald's restaurants.
