General Laborer

Job Overview

Matrec is seeking a General Laborer to join the team at our Navan, Ontario location. The role involves maintaining safe, clean, and efficient terminal operations, supporting equipment upkeep, container repairs, and general yard management.

Work Schedule and Location

This is a full-time permanent position, with working hours from 6 AM to 4 PM at 5001 Herbert Dr, Navan, ON K4B 1J1.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining the yard by keeping it clean, organized, and clear of debris.
• Ensuring the garage and shop areas are neat and orderly.
• Repairing and painting metal waste containers.
• Accurately tracking the container inventory daily.
• Performing additional duties as directed by supervisors.

Candidate Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years experience in maintenance, repair, or mechanical work; vocational training is also acceptable.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long durations, bend, climb, and operate in an outdoor shop setting.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
• Basic computer skills to manage work orders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
