Job Overview

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking to hire dedicated gardeners to maintain and enhance the care of landscaping and grounds, ensuring well-kept areas such as sidewalks, driveways, and building entries. Primary Duties

• Mow lawns using both hand-operated and powered mowers, preserving the landscape design by planting perennials, shrubs, and trees.
• Trim and edge around flower beds, walls, and pathways utilizing hand clippers and power edging tools; may operate larger machinery like heavy tractors.
• Prune shrubs and trees to maximize growth efficiency and visual appeal.
• Apply treatments to lawns, shrubs, and trees for pest, disease, and weed control, along with routine fertilization compliant with laws and regulations.
• Maintain all power equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning.
• Offer guidance and instruction to volunteers assisting with grounds upkeep.
• Water lawns and garden areas as needed.
• Support seasonal displays and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Two to three years of practical experience in groundskeeping, horticulture, landscaping, or similar field, including knowledge of plants and fertilizers.
• Competent in the use of light machinery and confident computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Physically fit to perform active tasks and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Fluent English communication skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
• Educationally qualified with at least a Senior High School certificate or equivalent.
• Technologically adept and able to independently manage computer tasks.
• Must be worthy of a Temple Recommend as per church standards.
