Full-Time Store Associate

Role Overview

As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will play a key role in merchandising, product stocking, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure an excellent shopping environment. Collaborating with team members, you will enhance the customer experience through exceptional service.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This full-time position involves an average of 30 or more hours per week. The starting pay is $19.50 hourly, with incremental raises across years 2 through 5, ultimately rising to $21.50 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Model excellent customer service and escalate issues to management when needed.
• Report losses due to damaged or expired products to store management.
• Use the point-of-sale system to accurately process customer transactions and report scanning issues.
• Follow cash handling policies diligently.
• Open additional checkout lanes as needed to maintain efficient customer flow.
• Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising plans to boost sales.
• Pick and fulfill curbside orders accurately and deliver them promptly to customers' vehicles.
• Maintain organized zones and merchandising standards consistently.
• Support store management in meeting operational efficiency and shrink control goals.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Help maintain a safe workplace by identifying hazards and ensuring equipment is properly maintained.
• Follow inventory and product handling protocols precisely.
• Perform cleaning tasks up to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, twist, bend, and move across various store areas.
• Lift and place items weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at different heights including overhead placements.
• Operate store equipment such as cash registers, manual and electric hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Tolerate work in different temperature zones including freezer and cooler areas.
• Use cleaning agents safely for glass and multi-purpose surfaces.

Qualifications

• Provide prompt and courteous customer assistance.
• Operate store equipment including registers, scrubbers, balers, pallet jacks, and handheld devices.
• Understand and apply ALDI policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Follow instructions meticulously and maintain attention to detail.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to achieve productivity within deadlines.
• Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to scheduling requirements.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail work experience is an advantage.
