Job Summary
This position involves maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen equipment, work areas, and utensils to ensure a safe and orderly kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove food residue from dirty dishes and wash them either by hand or via dishwashing machines depending on equipment assigned, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation.
- Clean pots, pans, and trays following prescribed procedures, maintaining sanitation standards.
- Polish silverware employing various equipment and techniques such as burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, and cloths to ensure sanitization.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and maintain chemical levels and temperatures as per standards.
- Keep dishwashing areas and equipment orderly and compliant with safety policies.
- Clean kitchen floors by sweeping and mopping to uphold safety and hygiene.
- Sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
- Dispose of trash properly, clean garbage bins using steaming or hosing methods.
- Assist in transferring supplies and equipment between storage and work areas and help with loading and unloading supplies.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support kitchen operations.
Working Schedule and Location
Full-time hours include Fridays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The location is at Chime - 101 California Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94111. Applications are accepted online only.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working in a high-volume commissary kitchen is mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
- Fixed hourly wage of $23.00.
