Job Summary

The Dishwasher role involves ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain an orderly and hygienic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Remove food residues from dishes by scraping and rinsing, then clean them either by hand or using dishwashing equipment.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays following established procedures to guarantee complete sanitation.
• Polish silverware using appropriate methods and equipment, including burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, or cloths.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain proper temperature and chemical levels as per guidelines.
• Keep the dishwashing area organized and compliant with safety standards.
• Perform floor cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping to meet safety and sanitation requirements.
• Clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces thoroughly.
• Manage trash removal, including steam cleaning or hosing out garbage cans.
• Assist in transferring supplies and equipment between storage and work areas and participate in loading and unloading supplies and products.
• Complete any other tasks assigned by management.

Schedule and Location

This full-time position is based at Lewis & Clark College, 0615 Southwest Palatine Hill Road, Portland, OR 97219. The work occurs on weekdays with varying hours, details to be provided during the interview.

Compensation

The rate of pay is fixed at $22.90 per hour. An internal employee referral bonus program is also available.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working as a dishwasher is mandatory.
