Job description
Position Overview
The Apparel Processing Outfitter is responsible for managing the entire cycle of apparel merchandise shipments, from receiving goods to ensuring they are stocked on the sales floor and properly managed in receiving areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all incoming apparel merchandise promptly following Visual Merchandising and MPS standards while utilizing the inventory management system. This accounts for about 50% of duties.
- Replenish merchandise on the sales floor as needed, adhering strictly to Visual Merchandising Standards and using the inventory system, approximately 10% of work time.
- Keep informed about current sales promotions to support efficient organization and replenishment of backstock areas (10%).
- Assist with unloading merchandise trucks when necessary, which comprises about 10% of responsibilities.
- Participate in maintaining accurate pricing and signage for merchandise (5%).
- Maintain a clean, orderly workspace that is well-stocked with necessary supplies (5%).
- Ensure that backstock areas remain organized and easily accessible (5%).
- Deliver excellent customer service to foster a welcoming and pleasant shopping environment (5%).
- Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent; this is preferred as well.
- No prior experience is necessary for this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in company computer systems and devices, including System Two, RF/Gizmo handheld units, and Point of Sale register systems.
- Ability to interpret and implement plan-o-grams, visual merchandising guides, and standards effectively.
- Capability to analyze replenishment reports to organize merchandise for sales floor restocking.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally and courteously with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with management, peers, and customers.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Regularly involves walking, standing, and computer-related tasks; sitting is infrequent.
- Capability to occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Use of ladders and lifts as needed for merchandising duties.
Independence and Decision-Making
The position operates under general guidance, following established procedures and occasionally making decisions independently to resolve issues. Provides suggestions to improve work processes and company practices.
